Hi, my name is Fred Zara. I’m an award-winning filmmaker, photographer and editor who was practically born with a camera in my hand. Having worked as a touch-up artist in the headshot reproduction industry for more than 11 years, I’ve seen literally tens of thousands of headshots. By far, the biggest mistake actors make is choosing a headshot that doesn’t accurately represent their type.
It bothers me to no end when I see an actor with a poorly photographed headshot, because I know that he or she is going into casting calls at a disadvantage. As an actor, you only get one chance to make the right impression on an agent or casting director.
Ever since I directed my first film, I’ve known I had a passion for making actors look their best. I bring that passion to every headshot I take.
